We have so much to be thankful for already and we have so much more to look ahead as well!
At our regular May 4th meeting, we had the pleasure of hosting the Mayor Pro Tem, Richard Holt and the Public Works Director, Jeff Dankenbring of the City of Centennial who presented some interesting future events happening at the City along with updates on future street construction happening around our meeting location. They answered a few good questions from our members, however, I also feel that this meeting should be the beginning of a partnership of our club’s services with Centennial. More discussion and ideas are welcome on how we can go forward.
At Our May 18th meeting we had the speech contestants from Chaparral HS give their speeches to the club. 1st Place: Maks Oracic was out of the country, but his speech was in the May newsletter. 2nd Place: Claire Stohlton and 3rd Place: Elizabeth "Lizzy" Valentine gave their speeches, doing a great job.
The Snack Shack’s first Friday opening on May 19th was a resounding success with about 60 meals being served even though the weather was not the greatest but not the worst! We look forward to preparing and serving lunch for many of the Centennial Airport and the other aviation company’s employees until September.
