Thank you for electing me as your 2023-2024 president. I will work hard to try to keep up with the leadership you’ve had in the past. Mark and past presidents are great examples of what is to be expected. I have limited experience in committees so please point out when I don’t follow the rules of procedure.
From what I’ve seen since I rejoined the Centennial Lions Club is that this club is motivated and dedicated to Lionism and service. I only hope that I am able to keep that enthusiasm alive and make all of your efforts satisfying and fun for you and your families.
Throughout my career I have had to be very concise in my communications. Public speaking has never been my forte and even in personal messaging, I am brief. I get personal texts about how Flo’s day is going, what she did, and when she will be home; often a paragraph and her friends include me in messages of about the same length. My responses are usually ‘home,’ ‘hear,’ ‘see you,’ or ‘do you need anything.’ So if you get a short response it is not that I don’t appreciate your message, I just go to the most efficient, direct thought.
So this means that I would appreciate your input and help. All of us can make this next year as productive as in the past. Maybe we could look for opportunities to help our community in ways we haven’t in the past. I am not looking for grandiose advancements but to maintain the status quo and maybe some baby steps to further Lionism in our community.
Remember those that have served our country and in the Lion’s club. I thank you in advance for your patience, wisdom, and help. I am just a link in the chain, up or down.
Yours in service,
Lion President Kevin
